Oadby Learning Partnership (OLP) Teaching School Alliance
‘Committed to Excellence for all’
Our alliance consists of 21 primary and secondary schools based in and around Oadby and South East Leicestershire. The schools have a shared dedication to working with others to improve teaching and learning for all pupils. Expertise exists in each of our schools and the Teaching School's aim is to harness that talent to create a self-sustaining, self-improving system for school improvement.
What is a Teaching School?
"Teaching schools are outstanding schools that work with others to provide high-quality training and development to new and experienced school staff. They are part of the government's plan to give schools a central role in raising standards by developing a self-improving and sustainable school-led system".
DfE March 2014
Professional Development Opportunities for Staff
Good professional development lies at the heart of school improvement and succession planning within the schools.
Professional development opportunities are available for newly qualified teachers, recently qualified teachers, middle leaders, subject leaders, senior leaders and opportunities for developing the role of headship.
In addition there is CPD for teaching assistants, midday staff and other support staff within schools.
Most of the training takes place through the Oadby Learning Partners (teaching school) and is always led by lead practitioners as well as credible external trainers.
Staff across the schools have opportunities to support and work with each other to develop best practice.
